Slicing

  • Use Lychee Slicer on the computer in the Laser Room. There are no special instructions; look online for information for this printer in Lychee.
  • Store your print file on the flash drive that connects to the right side of the printer.

Printing

  • Plug the flash drive into the printer without gloves.
  • Turn on the printer without gloves.
  • Put on gloves, and do everything after this step with gloves.
  • Shake the resin bottle. I've had the cap break, so keep a hand over the cap.
  • Pour resin into the resin vat. The surface should be completely covered in resin, and the small lip where the vat starts to taper out should no longer be visible. If you see clear liquid, you didn't shake the resin enough. Stir the resin in the vat with the plastic scraper. If there is resin already in the vat, you can leave it there.
  • Press the "print" button on the screen, find your file, and start the print.
  • Wait for the print to finish.

Cleaning

  • Remove the bed from the machine with the large knob.
  • Scrape the part off the bed. Use the plastic scraper. Avoid using metal tools.
  • Wipe off the shiny metal aluminum part of the bed with a paper towel. No cured or uncured resin should be present. Put the bed back in the machine.
  • Remove the supports by clipping them with cutters or rip them from the part.
  • Verify there are no holes in your gloves.
  • Dunk the part in the pre-wash ethanol bath and swish it around for 20-30 seconds.
  • Place the part in the wash and cure station. Run the parts washer for three minutes.
  • Take the part out and let it dry. Since it is ethanol this should go quickly. Your gloves will also be clean of resin.
  • Remove the alcohol tank from the wash and cure station. Press the button on the front of the unit to switch to cure mode. Place the cover on the curing area. Run the curing cycle for 2 minutes.
  • Part is done.
